Post Expo: A Science and Technology Park to feed the Planet.

Abstract

Even before the conclusion of the World Fair of Milan, began the debates relating to the fate of the site after the event.

The large-scale events are a recognized catalyst of urban transformation and represent the opportunity to increase the value of the territory on the local scale by delivering a range of outcomes for the host city and country. The project for the reuse of a world exposition site must outline an efficient strategy to make the most of the quality of the territorial system and to create a new urban pole of development.

The purpose of the present (research) paper is to outline a project proposal designed both to discipline the territory and to enhance the local resources and potentialities. This proposal aims at showing that the smart and sensitive planning allows to achieve ambitious targets, such as large-scale public works, reducing the waste of time and resources. Therefore, the urban development project must not only design the landscape, but it has to be a way to lead the country’s economy and community.
